About Horrible Traveler

Our Story

Hi, I’m David! I’m a novice traveler who loves to dive into new cultures and explore exotic destinations. My travel journey started with a few mishaps and plenty of laughs, and I quickly realized that sharing these real, unfiltered experiences could help and entertain others. Thus, Horrible Traveler was born.

While these adventures are primarily from my perspective, my wife Daphne is a key part of the story. She’s always by my side, bringing her own energy and enthusiasm to our travels. Together, we navigate the highs and lows of each trip, making every experience memorable and unique.

Our Mission

At Horrible Traveler, we believe in embracing the beauty and chaos of travel. Our mission is to provide authentic, humorous, and helpful travel content that inspires you to explore the world, no matter your level of experience. From navigating cultural customs to dealing with travel mishaps, we’re here to share it all.

Lost in Iceland: Navigating Glaciers and Waterfalls

Our Peruvian adventure was a mix of breathtaking sights and unforgettable mishaps. The highlight was the Salkantay Trail, where I faced altitude sickness at the Salkantay Pass, needing a horse and oxygen to make it through. Carlos, our amazing guide, was by my side while Daphne pressed on determinedly. We also explored the serene beauty of Lake Titicaca and endured the challenging trek to Rainbow Mountain, with its vivid colors and high altitude. Despite the struggles, the experience was incredibly rewarding.
